Registration for the next GOLDEN course, TELI (Learning About and Using the Internet in the German Classroom is now open. Registration will continue through the end of August, 2002 or until the course is filled, so don't delay.
Please refer to this PDF file for instructions on registering at UNL. As you follow the steps on this instruction sheet, note these particulars pertaining specifically to GOLDEN.
Please note: ALL students must complete ALL steps on the attached registration instruction sheet Ð even those who have enrolled in a previous GOLDEN course. Students who have enrolled in the past will have to go to the Graduate Studies application and fill it out to reactivate their PIN; if this applies to you, you do not have to pay a fee nor do they have to worry about transcripts, since Graduate studies already has yours.
1. Students new to GOLDEN and UNL, must submit transcripts from their undergraduate institution to certify that you have received a Baccalaureate degree. If you have not already done so, please order transcripts from the institution where you received your BA/BS.
Official transcripts should be sent to:
Graduate Studies
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
1100 Seaton Hall
Lincoln, NE 68588-0619.
You will not receive the PIN that you need to register until Graduate Studies receives your transcripts. If they do not hear from Graduate Studies via email by Aug. 22, then call them at their toll free number (800-742-8800 ext. 2878) and make arrangements for a temporary clearance to receive a PIN while your file is being completed. This way, you will still be able to register for TELI by the deadline. This clearance will have no impact on your registration for further courses through GOLDEN.

2. When you proceed to the online graduate application, please note the following:
- Make sure that you include your correct email address. This is essential for all distance students.
- The following information is important for "Part II: Admission Objective" of your graduate application.
- Admissions Classification ->
- If you are currently enrolled in the MA program in Curriculum and Instruction offered by GOLDEN and UNL, check Readmission to graduate degree program.
- If you have previously taken a GOLDEN course, but are not enrolled in the MA program, check Non-degree, Readmission.
- If this is your first GOLDEN course and you are not presently a student at UNL, check Non-Degree, Post-baccalaureate. If you wish to apply for the MA in Curriculum and Instruction offered via GOLDEN and UNL, you may do so after you have begun your course work in TELI. We usually recommend that students successfully complete their first GOLDEN course before making this commitment as this gives them an opportunity to check out our distance learning environment. If you decide before the end of UNL's fall semester (December 19, 2002) to enroll in the MA program, you may do so simply by filling our another graduate studies application with your degree objective listed. If you do so after this day, you will pay an additional $35 admissions fee.
- Area of Specialization -> GOLDEN
- Is this a distance education program? -> YES
- "Part III: Academic History and Previous Employment" -> fill in JUST the institution from which you received your baccalaureate degree (the one from which you have ordered transcripts. If you fill in any other institutions, you will be required to submit transcripts for these and this will delay your acceptance.
- "Part V; $35 Application Fee" -> Please note the instructions on the attached PDF sheet. If you have previously taken a GOLDEN course, check the box marked "I don't have to pay the fee".
3. Once you have completed the online application click the submit JUST ONCE. Otherwise, you may be charged for two application fees on your credit card. Soon thereafter, you will receive a confirmation of your application via email. Please send an email to goldenfrau@attbi.com once you have completed this application, so that I know to reserve a spot for you in TELI while we are waiting for your PIN.
Once you have received your PIN from Graduate Studies, proceed to step 2 of the PDF instructions, "Register for the Course". When registering for GOLDEN Ð TELI, use the call number 8573. Enter 3 for the number of hours.
